profit through people performance

The INTERCEPT® Poverty Story
For Twelve years, the Intercept® business model and programs have focussed on profit through people performance and creating money for (and with) our clients. We have been developing business entrepreneurs, and being entrepreneurs ourselves. This has been achieved by freeing up the mind space and diary space of our clients through root cause problem solving, thinking and better use of individual skill and talent.

For the next twelve years and beyond, our aim is to transfer that discretionary mind space and diary space and work with our clients on programs that root cause problem solve in the world, where it really counts. Intercept® Poverty operates in the space of the Social Entrepreneur and develops Social Entrepreneurship in the world.

Our vision has a global context. Our perspective tracks with the thinking of the UN and focusses on areas of the planet that are the highest priority. The Three Letters for the Third World are E S R - Economic Self Reliance. Just like in business, where Intercept® works to develop self reliance for our clients, now Intercept® Poverty will work to develop economic self reliance in the Third World.

Our Philosophy
Intercept® advocates economic self reliance in business and Intercept® Poverty advocates economic self reliance in the third world.

Our belief is that economic self reliance (ESR) will intercept poverty and that this is the key solution to making poverty history.

We have personally visited orphanages in Addis Ababa, water wells in southern Kenya and coffee plantations in southern Ethiopia. This has given us first hand knowledge of the issues confronting the African continent.

The way to achieve ESR is to NOT give hand outs, it is to enable the people to be self sufficient. Using our intellectual property and our contacts we can match people with projects and experiences, primarilly in Africa.

Intercept® Poverty aims to foster Social Entrepreneurship by enabling Micro-Franchises and fire starting projects that make a difference.

Problem Solving People, Holding Hands to Make a Chain.
Problem Solving People, Holding Hands to Make a Change.
There really is enough on Earth for everyone you see.
The World is Like a Chocolate Cake.
Let's spread the icing ev-en-ly.

Problem Solving People
Social Entrepreneurs
What is a Social Entrepreneur?

A social entrepreneur is society's change agent. A pioneer of innovation that benefits humanity. Creating change that root cause problem solves where it's needed most.

Social Entrepreneurship is a fit with Intercept®. We are simply transferring our focus from business entrepreneruship to social entrepreneurship. All the principles apply in a different context.

At Intercept® Poverty we are Social Entrepreneurs developing Social Entrepreneurship in others. Teaching the teachers how to teach others to "fish" (if you give a man a fish you will feed him for one day - if you teach a man to fish you will feed him and his family for life).
Micro Franchising
What is a Micro-Franchise?

A replicable business system on a micro-scale that fosters economic self reliance. The idea is to enable the individual working with them to develop intellectual property and uniqueness that equips them for life.

A practical example of this could be turning subsistence coffee farmers in the south of Ethiopia into Micro-Franchise Units. Then replicate the capability creating royalty streams. There are a myriad of existing services and situations that are currently viewed as crises. If a problem solving focus is taken, these problems are actually business opportunities waiting to be developed.

By keeping ideas at a micro level, the intellecutal property remains in the minds, hearts and capability of the local people. Able to be passed on, rather than removed in times of government change or turbulent situations.

Our belief is that the combination of Social Entrepreneurship and Micro-Franchise Systems will end poverty.
